The Best Ways to Save Your Skin During Summer
In a year-round hot country, summer is even more noticeable. The sun blazes like a furnace from the sky, and the air itself seems like the very inside of an oven. Staying indoors and in air-conditioning becomes the most obvious choice for most people, but some must face the sunshine. During a particularly hot season, be sure to take a few simple steps to protect yourself from the sun.
Carry Around a Bottle of Sunscreen
If you don’t live near the beach, this might sound silly. Sunscreen is for hot days near the water, right? Usually, you’re in a bathing suit when you decide to smother yourself in sunscreen, but it is crucial during summertime. If you are spending any time outside walking or riding a bike, your skin is exposed to the sun, no matter what. Bring a small bottle of sunscreen when you head out so if you find yourself in the sun, you’re protected.
Invest in Whitening Cream
With the hot sun comes sunburns and tans. Your skin will fluctuate easily, and a whitening solution can help. Many stores will have whitening cream produce (known as รับผลิตครีมผิวขาว in Thai) to help keep your skin a more even tone, especially during the summer months. Some of these ingredients will also help with the intense sun.
Long, Light Layers
One of the easiest ways to protect yourself from the sun is simply to stay out of it altogether. For some people that work outside or are outdoors often, this is nearly impossible. However, you can purchase long sleeve shirts that are made from a lightweight material so that while you are covered, you don’t sweat too much. The downside of this option, of course, is that this will be a hotter choice. If you are constantly outdoors, however, this might be a good choice to truly keep yourself protected.
Keep a Few Spare Hats
Wide brim hats are best for the summer days for multiple reasons. They can keep the sun off of your neck to avoid a burn, and they also keep the sun out of your eyes. Bright, direct sunlight can give you a headache and make you feel dehydrated very quickly, but a hat can help alleviate this issue. Hats will also help to protect your forehead, which can be a hotspot that leads to overheating.
Luckily, just after summer comes cooler weather and less intense sun. By protecting yourself and your skin, you can not only feel better but help avoid many health problems that might occur years down the road.
