In a year-round hot country, summer is even more noticeable. The sun blazes like a furnace from the sky, and the air itself seems like the very inside of an oven. During a particularly hot season, be sure to take a few simple steps to protect yourself from the sun.

If you don’t live near the beach, this might sound silly. Sunscreen is for hot days near the water, right? Usually, you’re in a bathing suit when you decide to smother yourself in sunscreen, but it is crucial during summertime. If you are spending any time outside walking or riding a bike, your skin is exposed to the sun, no matter what. Wide brim hats are best for the summer days for multiple reasons. They can keep the sun off of your neck to avoid a burn, and they also keep the sun out of your eyes. Bright, direct sunlight can give you a headache and make you feel dehydrated very quickly, but a hat can help alleviate this issue. Hats will also help to protect your forehead, which can be a hotspot that leads to overheating.
